The Animal Instinct Tour Touches Down In Ohio

The Animal Instinct Tour started on October 30th, 2024, and ended on November 30th, 2024! I got the lucky chance to photograph the show on November 28th, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio! I already had tickets to see the show so I could give that ticket to a friend and photograph it! I had seen Bad Wolves once earlier this year at the Incarceration Festival and then also wrote about Pop Evil as my first piece. This was an insane opportunity for me and I’m so excited to share it with you!

One was the band to hit the stage! Oni is a metalcore band starting in Ontario, Canada formed by Jake Oni. They immediately started with a bang, the bass bumping through the crowd being played by Chase Bryant, and the drums shaking the stage by Joe Greulich. They had great energy jumping around the stage and Jake Oni’s vocals were top-tier. Both of the guitars had great riffs and rhythms being played by both Martin Andres and Brandon White. Jake Oni got down off the stage and got onto the barricade and held hands with a fan and it was literally like watching a core memory form it was incredible!

Sierra Pilot was next! Sierra Pilot is a hard rock band that is also from Ontario, Canada formed by Taylor Leith. The bass was deep and rhythmic played by Ryan and the crisp guitar was played by Jay. The booming drums were played by Wes Bartram, and the vocals by Taylor Leith were fantastic. The lighting was dark and moody with lots of blue and reds giving off that anxious and excited feeling.

Bad Wolves was third on the stage! Bad Wolves is a groove metal/ rock band from Los Angeles, California! They first hit big with their cover of “Zombie” originally by The Cranberries in 2018. Bad Wolves played some of their hit songs like “Zombie”, “Killing Me Slowly”, and “Sober”. Daniel Laskiewics vocals were impressive and the drums by John Boecklin boomed through the venue. The guitars being played by Chris Cain and Doc Coyle were great and had so much depth with both a rhythm and lead part. Finally, the bass by Kyle Konkiel was fantastic and dark. Daniel Laskiewics got down with the crowd and had a few fans sing into the mic at the barricade, you could hear how excited they were,e and it is not something I’ve seen happen often at rock shows!

Lastly, Pop Evil! Pop Evil is a hard rock band that was formed in North Muskegon, Michigan! They played some of their big songs like “What Remains”, their most recent single released, and “100 in a 55” off their first studio debut album. Leigh Kakaty on the vocals was amazing and he had an insane stage presence and knew he owned the stage. Chachi Riot was on the drums that echoed through the Bluestone venue, and Dave Grahs and Nick Fuellings both on guitars played this amazing and diverse setlist! Lastly, Matt DiRitto on the bass was amazing. They are all fantastic on their own but when you put them together it's phenomenal. The band is so in sync and they just work together so well! They played for an hour and killed that hour. They had the whole crowd dancing and singing so loud I couldn’t even hear myself singing along! This tour wasn't just The Animal Instinct tour it was also the 99.7 Blitsmas tour celebrating all the holidays!

Overall this tour was amazing, all of the bands were fantastic and played their hearts out! If you missed this one you have to catch these bands on other tours!
