Tuesday night, Grammy-nominated artist Poppy brought her They're All Around Us tour to St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, MI, delivering an electrifying performance that blurred the lines between music, art, and sheer chaos. From the moment she took the stage, the energy in the room was electric
Playing to a sold-out crowd, the venue was packed from wall to wall. The night kicked off with the hit, Have You Had Enough?, from her new album, Negative Spaces. The explosion of sound immediately opened up the mosh pit, setting the tone for what would be a relentless, high-energy night. Poppy’s signature blend of metal, industrial, and ethereal pop created a rave-like energy that the crowd fed off of.
What set this show apart was Poppy’s theatrical approach. She commanded the stage with an almost hypnotic presence, weaving effortlessly between delicate melodies and brutal breakdowns. Her interactions with the crowd only amplified the intensity, making every person in the room feel like they weren’t just a part of the experience, but sharing it with hundreds of other people.
Poppy was not the only one who took the spotlight; Guitarist Johnuel Hasney, Drummer Ralph Alexander, and Bassist Roshane Karunaratne all had their moment in the spotlight for a “round of applause” interlude about halfway through their set.

The setlist consisted of 17 songs with a blend of old and new, keeping every fan engaged. Some notable songs off the setlist include: V.A.N., I Disagree, Concrete, The Cost Of Giving Up, and New Way Out.
No concert is ever complete without an encore, and the crowd knew it. As soon as the ‘final’ song finished and the lights were cut, the crowd erupted into chants of “POPPY!”. After the quickest round of encore semantics, Poppy retook the stage by popular demand and, new way out, blasted through the venue. Crowd surfers took to the air as Poppy re-opened the pit and bodies clashed from end to the other as soon as the breakdown hit, ending the night exactly how it started.
By the end of the night, it was clear that this was not just a concert, but an immersive experience. Poppy proved once again why she continues to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving Detroit fans exhilarated and craving more.
