Ahead of the release of Royal Discordance, The Gloom In The Corner unveiled the defiant and theatrical “You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now),” pairing the single with a striking visual counterpart. Now, with the album officially out, the track stands as a bold entry point into the band’s most ambitious and immersive era yet.

Blending urgency with theatrical flair, “You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now)” captures the sharp dynamics that define Royal Discordance. The track shifts between explosive riffs and expansive hooks, keeping the chaos tight instead of letting it spiral. It’s bold, confrontational, and self-aware, a statement piece that sets the tone for the album’s larger narrative.

The band explains of their latest single:

"You Didn't Like Me Then is not just about accepting one's self, but also embracing it, regardless of what other people think, not everyone is going to like you or accept you, and that's totally okay — you don't have to like them either."

The accompanying video mirrors that intensity, amplifying the track’s dramatic energy with a visual presentation that leans into the band’s larger-than-life aesthetic. Rather than simply performing the song, The Gloom In The Corner frame it as part of a broader world-building vision, reinforcing the cinematic scope that runs throughout Royal Discordance. It lands as both theatrical and personal, carrying its defiance with surprising focus.

Over the years, The Gloom In The Corner have steadily built a reputation for immersive storytelling, weaving recurring characters, lore, and cinematic concepts throughout their discography. From their early releases through to Trinity, the band has prioritized atmosphere as much as aggression, crafting a universe that rewards repeat listens. Royal Discordancefeels like a natural extension of that approach, expanding the scale without sacrificing the chaotic edge that first set them apart.

Now officially released, Royal Discordance expands on that momentum across a tracklist that shifts between relentless heaviness and narrative-driven ambition. Recorded with producer Jonathan Delese, the album continues the band’s commitment to immersive storytelling while sharpening their songwriting into something more refined and expansive. For a group that has steadily carved out its own lane within modern metalcore, this latest chapter feels less like a reinvention and more like a confident evolution.
