ONE OK ROCK Releases New Track - “Puppets Can’t Control You”
ONE OK ROCK recently released their new single “Puppets Can’t Control You,” which premiered during the first episode of the nationally televised drama Mikami Sensei. The song will be featured on their upcoming album, DETOX, which will be available everywhere February 21, 2025.

DETOX will be the band’s 11th studio release and features collaborations with multiple GRAMMY winning and nominated producers like Rob Cavallo, Dan Lancaster, and Pete Nappi. The album will arrive just ahead of the band’s 20th anniversary, which will be celebrated next year.
“Puppets Can’t Control You” begins with an ethereal techno intro that builds into an upbeat and progressive chorus. The chorus features a bouncy bass and drum rhythm that ends with an intense electric guitar break. The aggressive techno and bass filled breakdown blends the overall tone to match the lyrics throughout the song about feeling damned if you do and damned if you don’t, so you might as well do it.

“Puppets Can’t Control You” follows their previous releases from their upcoming album, “+Matter,” “Delusion:All,” and “Dystopia.” “+Matter” premiered on their recent 2024 Premonition World Tour, which is heralded as their largest global tour run to date. The tour reached almost 200,000 fans in eight shows across seven countries last month. It was the first time the band performed their full-scale stadium show in Europe and North America.
ONE OK ROCK will be going on tour in 2025 throughout Latin America. The tour starts in Mexico at the Tecate Pa’l Norte festival in April and will include a trip to South America, their first time back since 2017, to play their biggest show yet on the continent.
