Over the ages, Rap and Rock music have had a complex and storied history. Both genres were born from social unrest and were often used as the voice of the masses in times of change and conflict. This has led to some of the greatest collaborations in both scenes. From the iconic Lincoln Park and Jay-Z collaboration to more modern instances such as Lil Uzi Vert and Bring Me the Horizon or War Pigs being covered by T-Pain, it's no surprise that when rap goes rock, which is exactly what happened on The Jimmy Fallon show on Monday, everyone wins.
If you happened to miss Fallon, Offset, formerly of Migos, has released a new deluxe Album, “KIARI: OFFSET,” and instead of going the traditional route with his performance, the Atlanta-born rapper brought out two unexpected guests. J.I.D., a rapper known for his rapid-fire lyrics and amassing over a billion streams in his feature on “Enemy”, producer BNYX, who has worked with artists like SZA, Bad Bunny, and Travis Scott, and rock band Drowning Pool, who have been on the scene since 1996, will perform their most iconic song, “Bodies.”

In a show with immense energy, including some floor slamming and flipped chairs, the entire group hit the stage with electricity. This appearance also acts as the official signal that even more new music is on the horizon. Drowning Pool has announced that they’re officially back in the studio, with a new album coming in 2026 via SBG Records. With the return of Ryan McCombs to the group, they’re planning to remind everyone why their legacy has endured so many years.
When speaking on the matter, McCombs expressed a rather heartwarming sentiment.
“Just being back in the same room together after so many years… was a quick reminder as to why I considered them to be my best friends in the business back in the day.”
So in an era that seems all about endurance, connection, and staying the test of time things are looking plenty exciting for Drowning Pool and their fan base.
