Dead Poet Society have officially returned with their menacing new single, “Sinner Systems,” released via Spinefarm Records. Since arriving on May 6, 2026, the track has sent fans into a frenzy, marking the band’s first new release since their 2024 album, FISSION. The excitement surrounding the single has only amplified the anticipation for their upcoming run with Highly Suspect on THE TOUR OF YELLOW ROSES.

Listen to “Sinner Systems” here.

“Sinner Systems” feels like the perfect statement piece for the band’s return as it's a fearless and introspective release that confronts a variety of complex emotions. Beneath the surface of its crushing instrumentals lies a deeper commentary on the emotionally exhausting cycle bred from the systems of modern life, while exploring the disconnect created by those systems that quietly strip away genuine connection, thus reinforcing the brutal collide between chaos and emotional numbness.

The band described the track as “a dark, brooding song that blends heavy, detuned fretless grooves with addictive, hedonistic lyrics that hold a mirror up to modern excess and emotional numbness. We explored the duality of the detuned and the melodic and came up with a song that is a cinematic journey for the listener."

That duality is what gives the track its lasting impact. The suffocating weight of the instrumentals mirrors the darker impulses and twisted behaviors explored throughout the song while the melodic compositions and impassioned vocal delivery captures the haunting feeling of wanting connection while simultaneously feeling detached from the world.

Watch the official music video for “Sinner Systems” below.

Produced by Paul Meany, known for his work with Twenty-One Pilots, Pierce The Veil, and mixed by Adam Hawkinsn whose credits include Turnstile, Yungblud, Twenty-One Pilots, the track further proves Dead Poet Society’s refusal to remain stagnant. Their use of experimental tonal techniques and vibrant imagery keeps them fresh and innovative. You may never know exactly what you’re in for, but you can always count on them to deliver something that’s unforgettable.

In addition to the song’s release, the band also debuted the track’s accompanying music video, directed by Darren Craig and Mindreader. Set in a home that is frozen in time, the video explores the theme of emotional disconnection while observing those dark ideas. The members of the band can be found in unemotive, stationed states during the heavy portions of the song, while the countering melodic portion features a deep and intense emotional performance, once again commenting on the duality of the track both lyrically and compositionally.

Fresh off their recent appearance at Welcome To Rockville, the band will waste no time diving straight into their next chapter. They’ll be hitting the road with Highly Suspect on their upcoming THE TOUR OF YELLOW ROSES, which runs throughout May and will give fans their first opportunity to experience “Sinner Systems” live.

Kristen

Hi! My name is Kristen and I’m a photographer/videographer based out of Milwaukee, WI. I’ve never known life without a camera in my hands and music in my ears. Music is something that I always felt passionate about and fell in love with how music can connect so many people from all different walks of life. At a very young age, I found my mom’s VHS camcorder and filmed anything and everything. Later in life, I became a wedding videographer and continued to do that for 5 years. While doing this helped me hone my craft, I always had a pull in the back of my mind to music photography. That's when I decided to bring my two passions together and got into music photography. I hope to help continue bringing people together and amplifying the voices and stories of all of the people and artists I am inspired by, and those I have yet to find.
