Keith Wallen shares music video for “Us against the world”
Earlier this week, Breaking Benjamin's guitarist, Keith Wallen, released a brand new EP called "Us Against The World," along with a music video for one of the songs, "Us Against The World." This EP includes 6 songs: "Dear Father," "Don't Fall Asleep," "Nemesis," and "Us Against The World," along with an acapella and instrumental version.

Keith Wallen started releasing some of his own music back in 2014, alongside his own band. Blake Bailey on drums, Nick Bedrosian as bassist, Mike Warren on guitar, and of course, Keith Wallen on vocals. Keith had a self-produced EP called "Allies" in 2014, but in 2021 he released his debut solo album, "This World Or The Next." A single from that EP, "Dream Away," reached well over 1.4 million streams on Spotify throughout 2021. The band is heavily influenced by 80's music such as "Alice In Chains," "Soundgarden," and "The Police." Keith is a man of all trades, as he also does co-writing collaborations with some of your favorite bands. He has collaborated with Brian 'Head' Welch, guitarist of Korn, on his solo album, "Love and Death," We Came As Romans, Dorothy, Saint Asonia, and much more.
"Us Against The World" is a very emotionally driven melody. The music video presents those emotions as well. In an interview about the new music video release, Keith states, "Life, death, triumph, tragedy...love transcends it all," says Wallen. "'Us Against the World' is a song for the fighters, the believers, and the ones who never let go."
The first verse of the song holds a lot of meaning behind it.
"I walk down this road, life is beautiful
Ready to find better days I’ve been waiting for
It’s hard to get by sometimes, it’s true
I walk down this road, life is beautiful"
Although you may struggle, there is always a beautiful outcome at the end.
The music video starts off with the band members in a dusty, rocky desert area. You can see Keith picking himself up off of the rocky ground and continuing to move forward. Toward the chorus, Keith finds himself walking to a convertible with one of his bandmates at the front end lying down alongside 2 other bandmates lying in the front and back seats. They help pick each other up, get into the convertible, and drive themselves to the bright city together. During this, it cuts scenes to the band playing their instruments in the deserted area.
Wallen and his bandmates had a very symbolic way of curating this music video to really display the emotions throughout the song itself. With this being said, I am extremely excited to see more music videos from this EP and have more music to listen to by one of my favorite artists!
