The Ivy and Lyncs team up to release new single “Dont fall asleep to this”

Indie-pop superstars The Ivy and Lyncs have joined forces to release a collaborative single titled “Don't Fall Asleep To This” accompanied by a music video.

The Ivy is a Tulsa-based duo composed of Wyatt Clem (vocals/guitar) and Shawn Abhari (synth/bass). The two first met at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Oklahoma City, and they had an instant spark. That spark jump-started a creative vision and sent them on their journey to create a fresh new sound full of sonic boundary-pushing that listeners can’t get enough of. They have since released three EPs, and their 2024 debut album, A Door Still Open, has earned them a solid spot as one of indie-pop’s hottest acts.

Originally from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Hynes makes music under the name Lyncs. Hynes' musical journey started early, picking up piano and violin at just five years old. Now, drawing inspiration from major acts like Lorde, The 1975, and The Japanese House, Lyncs’ music is a dreamy force to be reckoned with. Exploring themes of relationships, nostalgia, and self-discovery, there is surely something for everyone to relate to.

During a writing trip in LA, the two indie-pop acts came together, and “Don’t Fall Asleep To This” was born. The track is upbeat and dreamy, with stunning vocals. The track has been described as “delivering a heartfelt ode to the challenges and hopes of long-distance relationships,” and sonically it beautifully embodies both the feelings of sadness and hopefulness that come along with long-distance.

About the single, Lyncs shares, “Working with The Ivy on ‘Don’t Fall Asleep To This’ was an incredible experience. The song started with a mesmerizing, lullaby-like synthesizer. Initially, we leaned into that dreamy, slow vibe, but by the second day, we transformed it into something more upbeat and driving, which gave it that dynamic energy that matched both our sounds.”

The Ivy adds, “The writing process felt so natural and seamless. We’re thrilled with what we created together.”, reflecting on the collaborative single.

Hannah Daniel

Hey, I’m Hannah! I’ve had a love for the arts/music since I was a kid, and if I’m not painting or working on an art project at home I usually can be found at a concert. I developed a passion for music photography because it was a way to combine my love for being creative with my love for live music. There are few things I enjoy more than the feeling of being in a crowd, and being able to capture that feeling through my work (other than maybe getting a coffee). I’m always discovering new artists I love, but some of my favorite include Noah Kahan, Briston Maroney, Hozier, and Caamp.
