Shadows fall share video for “souls devoured”

Shadows Fall, a thrash metalcore band straight out of Boston, Massachusetts, has some big things to share with us recently! As you may know, Shadows Fall is a 5-piece metal band that formed in 1996. The members include vocalist Brian Fair, Jonathan Donais as lead guitarist, guitarist & backing vocals, Matt Bachand, Jason Bittner on drums, and last but not least, Paul Romanko on bass. Over the years, they have made household jams like "The Light That Blinds" and "Redemption."

Back in 2012, the band released an album called "Fire From The Sky." For years, they went radio silent on making new music but still performed shows stacked with a strong setlist. Lucky for us, last week the band announced their latest single, "Souls Devoured." Along with the new single, they released a dope music video!

Brian's vocal range for this new single is absolutely out of this world. The music video takes place in very dark, gloomy woods. Shadows Fall members can be seen performing their instruments in the woods while Brian is running between the trees. The vibe of the song is perfectly represented throughout the music video.

Here's what the Shadows Fall boys had to say in a recent interview about the new single: "Souls Devoured" is a straight-up metallic anthem — the kind that the band has been crafting with vitality and vibrance for decades. You're in for galloping solos, three-tiered vocals, massive melodies, and thoughtful lyrics."

Brian continues with, "Shadows Fall have always been a band that lets all of our influences and ideas show in our music and have never been afraid to mix and match genres within our sound." ... "It opens with a huge groove and rock riff before transitioning into a black metal-inspired verse to add a little evil to the party. Things open up into a half-time chorus that has an almost Pantera-style vibe before we inject some melodic death metal into the bridge and solo section. On paper, that can sound a bit schizophrenic, but we always try to have a cohesiveness and underlying theme that keeps it all unified."

Brian shares with us the lyrical meaning behind the song in a recent interview as well!

"Lyrically, the song is about finding yourself trapped in an apocalyptic event where demons and disasters have begun to consume the world. It's about fighting for survival as the planet crumbles around you, and you realize the only way to survive it is to fight fire with fire. We spend most of our lives trying to quiet the evil voices in our mind or denying they exist, but in this scenario, tapping into that darkness and letting the personal demons out may be the only way to survive the terror."

With the amazing release of this single, fans have speculated on whether Shadows Fall is going to drop a new album. In fact, they have been working on their 8th studio album for a little over a year! With "Souls Devoured" being so melodious, I can only imagine what the other songs will sound like!
