MOVEMENTS SHARE NEW SINGLE AND VISUALIZER FOR “WHERE I LAY”

Watch Where I Lay visualizer here!

Movements recently released the visualizer for their new single Where I Lay. The song features the bands signature sound but with a certain level of refinement. Lyrically, the song is an emotional heavy-hitter. The combination of the two helps to amplify the weight of the lyrics and to showcase the vulnerability within the song.

Where I Lay is one of those songs that was tough for me to write," says vocalist Patrick Miranda. "Lyrically, it's really emotionally vulnerable and it had me revisiting places with my writing that I hadn't explored in a while. It's for anyone else out there who feels like they've never quite fit right in the world. This one is for the outcasts."

Patrick explained the visualizer and the meaning behind it for Where I Lay. "It's a behind-the-scenes film photo that I took at the Afraid To Die music video shoot!" He goes on to say, "The idea is that Afraid To Die and Where I Lay are living in the same world thematically — and, in some ways, are extensions of one another. In Afraid To Die, I'm being chased by masked figures. In Where I Lay, the masked figure is going to be me. Since Where I Lay is about feeling like you don't belong; it's almost this idea that the reason I was being chased in Afraid To Die is because I never really was supposed to be part of the group of masked figures to begin with. It's like you're wearing a mask to try to blend in, but in the end, it's pointless... because one way or another, you'll be found out."

Kristen

Hi! My name is Kristen and I’m a photographer/videographer based out of Milwaukee, WI. I’ve never known life without a camera in my hands and music in my ears. Music is something that I always felt passionate about and fell in love with how music can connect so many people from all different walks of life. At a very young age, I found my mom’s VHS camcorder and filmed anything and everything. Later in life, I became a wedding videographer and continued to do that for 5 years. While doing this helped me hone my craft, I always had a pull in the back of my mind to music photography. That's when I decided to bring my two passions together and got into music photography. I hope to help continue bringing people together and amplifying the voices and stories of all of the people and artists I am inspired by, and those I have yet to find.
