Drop Dead, Gorgeous–one of the most influential voices in mid-2000s post-hardcore–has returned with their most compelling release since reuniting. The Denver-born band, whose 2006 debut In Vogue helped set a new creative bar for Rise Records and the era at large, built their legacy on synth-laced aggression, theatrical flair, and raw emotional honesty. Their follow-up releases, Worse Than A Fairy Tale and The Hot N’ Heavy, reinforced the band's innovative edge, earning praise from outlets like VICE for “perfecting a style of post-hardcore that other bands would model themselves after.”
Following a decade away from the spotlight, Daniel “Stills” Stillman, Danny Cooper, and Jake Hansen revived Drop Dead, Gorgeous in 2024 with a run of unannounced live shows. Their official musical comeback arrived in 2025 with the singles Six Feet and Burn, both signaling a return marked by intensity rather than nostalgia. Their latest release, Sink Your Teeth, pushes that evolution further, unveiling a sound that is darker, heavier, and more expansive.

Musically, Sink Your Teeth balances controlled tension with explosive release. The track unfolds through brooding electronics and tightly wound verses before detonating into crushing breakdowns and soaring, emotionally charged passages. Built on contrast–melody and abrasion, restraint and catharsis–the song captures the band's ability to translate internal conflict into something visceral and immediate.
Sink Your Teeth stands as their clearest artistic statement in years. Driven by serrated guitars, atmospheric synths, and Stillman’s trademark emotional intensity, the track reframes the band's signature sound through a modern lens.
