Wednesday 13 Brings His Mid-Death Crisis To Starland Ballroom

Thursday night, April 10th, 2025 — The Duke of Spook brought his “There’s No Such Thing as Monsters” tour to Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey. Packed with ghosts, ghouls, and goblins, the show brought both tricks and treats, featuring Wednesday 13 performing Songs for the 20th anniversary of Transylvania 90210, a Best of The Murderdolls set, and some brand-new tracks off his upcoming album Mid Death Crisis, which will be released in two weeks via Napalm Records. Joining Wednesday 13 were some fiendish friends: I Ya Toyah, Dead Rabbits, and Stitched Up Heart. Let’s dig in, shall we?

I Ya Toyah

First up was I Ya Toyah, hailing from Chicago by way of Poland. She’s an alternative/electro-goth singer and composer. A one-woman band, she commanded the stage, handling guitars, vocals, and synths, complete with smoke, lights, lasers, and finger lasers!

 I Ya Toyah Setlist:

  • I Am The Fire

  • Vast Spaces

  • Denial

  • Pray

  • It’s No Good (Depeche Mode Cover)

  • Panic Room

Dead Rabbitts

Next up was emo/post-hardcore legend Craig Mabbitt and his metalcore side project Dead Rabbitts. Notably absent was his usual lineup; instead, members of Stitched Up Heart performed under the guise of rabbit masks. As the crowd’s energy grew, Dead Rabbitts delivered a solid mix of tracks from their latest album Redefined and selections from their 2022 release Rumination. A standout moment was when Mixi of Stitched Up Heart joined the stage for “Hellscape.”

Dead Rabbitts Setlist:

  • Raisehell.exe

  • Dead by Daylight

  • Artificial Gods

  • Mistake

  • Dead Again

  • Hellscape

  • Oxygen

  • Deer in the Headlights

Stitched Up Heart

Stitched Up Heart followed, and major props go to Merrit, Randy, and Delaney for playing back-to-back sets and still delivering high energy. No lack of power from Mixi either, who stormed the stage in a whirlwind of blue hair and headbanging. Most of their set came from their 2023 album To The Wolves, with Craig from Dead Rabbitts/Escape The Fate joining in on the opening track. The rest of the set was an even split between songs from 2020’s The Darkness and 2016’s Never Alone.

Stitched Up Heart Setlist:

  • To The Wolves

  • Possess Me

  • My Demon

  • Lost

  • Catch Me When I Fall

  • Sick Sick Sick

  • Conquer and Divide

  • Immortal

  • Monster

Wednesday 13

Look what the bats dragged in! The moment finally arrived. The Duke of Spook returned to New Jersey for the first time since 2023, celebrating 20 years of Transylvania 90210 — and, of course, no Wednesday 13 show would be complete without a grave-sized helping of a Best Of  Murderdolls set too!

Wednesday took time to connect with the New Jersey crowd, reminding them of their horror history as the home of The Toxic Avenger. The venue came alive with moshing and crowd surfing to a soundtrack of horror punk hits.

The latter part of the set shifted into The Murderdolls’ best-of set. Before launching into “Slit My Wrist,” Wednesday paid homage to the late Joey Jordison (of Slipknot and co-founder of The Murderdolls), crediting him for helping create The Murderdolls and continued success. He reminded the crowd that back in 2002, you had to physically buy a CD — no streaming, no Spotify, no Apple Music. And once you had that CD? You played it in your home stereo… or, if you were lucky, in your car.

To cap off the night and send fans home screaming back to their crypts, he closed with the iconic “I Love to Say Fuck” — complete with his signature “I Love To Say Fuck” umbrella, which, yes, is available for purchase HERE
