Great American Ghost Drop New Cover Plus Music Video
Great American Ghost, a New Hampshire hardcore metal band recently released a cover of Deftones’ "Hole In The Earth" and a music video.
Great American Ghost is a 4-piece band, with members including: Ethan Harrison, Vocalist, Niko Gasparrini, Guitarist; Grayson Stewart, Guitarist; and Anthony Laur, Bassist. The band is most known for their songs such as "Foresaken" & "Echoes of War" off of their recent album "Tragedy of The Commons", as well as, "Ann Arbor(Be Safe)" from the 2017 album, "Hatred Stems from the Seed."
Listening to Great American Ghost's version of "Hole In The Earth", you'll recognize that Ethan Harrison beautifully replicates Chino Moreno's (Deftones vocalist) tone and emotion but in Ethan's own, unique way. The members added their distinctive post-hardcore twist to it, but kept the same tone as the original. Midway through the song, Grayson Stewart (Guitarist) jumped in on vocals and it truly was just the cherry on top. In my opinion, this is my favorite Deftones cover yet. The band understood the assignment with this one.

"'Hole in the Earth' was our first and only choice when we decided to tackle a Deftones song. Not only is it our collective favorite by one of our biggest influences, but the subject matter really resonated with us at the time of recording. I'd encourage anyone listening to explore the story behind the song — and know that GAG was in a very similar place when we tracked this. We're proud of how it turned out."
The timing of this release was perfect with the anticipation of the upcoming Deftones album.
The "Hole In The Earth" Great American Ghost music video was an immaculate way to display their version of the song. It took place in a dimly lit room, with a yellow candlelight ambiance surrounding the members rocking their instruments. You can see the emotions flooding through Ethan's face, especially throughout the chorus.
