Masked, Mysterious, and Making Moves: PRESIDENT taking the Metal Scene by Storm
What started as a solo project that expanded into what is now a four member band, UK masked music collective PRESIDENT has been causing buzz since their debut in 2025. First appearing on the 2025 lineup for one of the UK’s largest rock and metal festivals, Download; PRESIDENT left fans with confusion as the band had been completely unheard of up until that point. Sharing a bill with names such as Sleep Token, Korn, and Green Day; they definitely sparked an interest among the hardcore scene that was sure to not disappoint.
In just under a year, the band has flown past milestones and hit charts that take some artists decades to achieve. Within a week of releasing their first single “In The Name of the Father”, the song quickly hit 500,000 streams on Spotify alone. After it was dubbed “Tune of the Week” on BBC Radio 1; PRESIDENT went on to announce their first headlining show that sold out in 48 hours, appear on the cover of an issue of Rock Sound, be named “Best New Artist”, and release an EP that gained over 10 million streams in just six months.
Quietly taking shape for several years PRESIDENT coincidentally debuted themselves in trying political times. Although, in an interview with Revolver Magazine, vocalist ‘The President’ expresses their influences are more existential than electoral. The band rather focuses on themes of religion, mortality, and fear/crisis. After parting with religious beliefs and losing an uncle; ‘The President’ struggled with emotions of anxiety, fear, and vulnerability. Questioning “How much of this is what I think, and how much of this was I told to think?”; PRESIDENT examines those same power structures that have shaped both religion and politics alike.
Following the release of their EP “King Of Terrors” in late September 2025, PRESIDENT has launched two new singles and confirmed a full length album is on the way. Most notable being the release of the single “Angel Wings”, which coincided with the announcement that the band had signed with Atlantic Records.
Shortly after, PRESIDENT announced they will be making an appearance at the Louder Than Life music festival in Louisville, Kentucky set to take place September of this year. In the meantime; they go on to headline TakeDown Festival in April as well as appearing on lineups for Slam Dunk Festival, Nova Rock Festival, Rock for People, and Copenhell over early summer.
Concluding their tour supporting Bad Omens, PRESIDENT dropped their single “Mercy” alongside a visualizer, which you can watchhere. Following the release, the band announced their first headlining tour with support from Cenobia and Showing Teeth; set to start in Nashville, Tennessee early September 2026.
With no intentions of slowing down, PRESIDENT is taking the metalcore scene by storm. If you’re unable to catch the band on one of their many stops over North America and Europe this year, You can stream them on all major streaming platforms here.
