August Burns Red have officially announced the arrival of their upcoming album SEASON OF SURRENDER, set to debut on June 5, 2026 via Fearless Records. Alongside the announcement, the band unveiled the official lyric video for their latest single, “The Nameless.”
SEASON OF SURRENDER marks a significant homecoming, as the album will be the band’s first release with their former label Fearless Records, who they previously released 3 albums with between 2015 and 2020. The 11-track record pays homage to the very beginnings of the group, serving as the balance between nostalgic reflection of the past two decades and the steady progression into the modern version of the band you see today.
The album also features an impressive lineup of guest collaborations from the likes of metalcore legends like Mike Hranica of The Devil Wears Prada, Jamie Hails of Polaris, and Make Them Suffer.

In addition to the announcement of the new album, the band shared, “The Nameless,” a bold follow up to their previously released single, “Behemoth.” Together, the tracks offer a powerful glimpse of what is to come for the rest of the album.
“The Nameless” encapsulates everything that ABR has perfected over the years. Gruesome vocals, relentless instrumentals, and high-intensity pacing are nothing new for the band, and this track highlights that. The driving beats and thunderous riffs create an ambitious energy that is impossible to deny.
Bassist Dustin Davidson explained the track as a “hard-hitting, heavy bruiser that doesn't let up for one moment. It combines classic ABR elements with dark moody technical rhythms, and fast paced vocals to keep the intensity up for the full three minutes of the track. To me it showcases our roots of where we've come from, and the future path of where we're heading."
Vocalist Jake Luhrs elaborated further on the single stating, "Lyrically, 'The Nameless' is a song about not wasting your life away for the sake of acceptance and comfortability. Sometimes it takes detaching from what you’ve been told, or from the beliefs you are no longer aligned with, in order to face your own weaknesses. In doing so you can break free to live a life you are proud of.”

Metalcore icons August Burns Red have remained a defining force within the metal scene since their beginning in the early 2000s. Their focus has never been sticking to the formula. They’ve been able to constantly evolve by challenging every label that’s been thrown their way, by experimenting while simultaneously honing their craft in new ways. Not only do they push the boundaries, but they’ve obliterated them completely. They add elements that may not be “synonymous” with the metalcore genre while removing any barriers that keep them in the same spot for too long. By doing so, they’ve separated themselves from being just another player in the game to the ones who are rewriting the rulebook.
