Downswing Announces New Single, Label and Teases New Album in a Hard-Hitting Drop
In what has been an extremely busy week, Albany-forged outfit Downswing has made a string of exciting announcements. A new single For What It's Worth" (Feat. Travis Moseley of Colorblind), was recently released off of their upcoming album “AND EVERYTHING WENT DARK,” which will be hitting stores and streaming on October 24th, 2025, under their new label, MNRK. A slew of good news to accompany their tour this month, opening for He Is Legend.
Having started in 2016, Downswing has combined harsh metal vocals and exciting guitar with groovy danceability to create something that is both emotional and entertaining. Gaining popularity through songs like “Bound To Misery” and “No Solution”, they’ve brought their sound to bigger and better stages throughout the years. Now, with vocalist Harrison Seanor, who joined in 2020, the band is ready to do everything bigger and better.
"This is the first time it feels like we're doing exactly what we want,” says Seanor
So what does Downswing want to do? Bring their best work to their fans. With their lineup of Seanor, guitarist Anthony Salvaggio, bassist Chris Arnold, and drummer Nick Manzella, it seems like that is a very achievable goal. They’re excited to hop into the studio, and that shows in what has been coming out.
That is exactly what they’ve done with their new single “For What It’s Worth.” Opening with a full blast of vicious vocals, this is a heavy hit. The clean vocals offer that perfect contrast, emphasizing the battle this song describes. A struggle for sanity as you fight to shed expectations, yet that fear of losing everything stays your hand. The synth-heavy instrumentals blend with the aggressive riffs, the drums are almost constantly at the forefront, and the bass hits some deep notes, especially in the more dance-heavy segments. When Travis Moseley comes into play, the sweetness of his vocals creates this almost longing undertone.
The accompanying music video, shot in what looks like an abandoned, only further supports the feeling of being lost. Plastic covers the furniture, and the camera veers between shaking and close dynamic shots of the band playing. As things begin to float toward the sky, it gives a sensation of falling. The nostalgic coloration throughout makes the scene play out like a near-forgotten memory. A desire for something that may be lost forever to time.

This release, of course, stands as a small taste of their upcoming album “And Everything Was Dark.” In what is being called “both a mission statement and a bold leap forward” this album is highly anticipated to bring out the best in this new(ish) lineup.

Downswing also has the support of their new label, MNRK. MNRK Music Group is among the largest independent music companies worldwide, operating in all major music markets. Home to other iconic acts like Fox Lake, Bodysnatcher, The Callous Daoboys, and Underoath. Known for their diverse catalogue and Grammy-winning performers, this feels like a wonderful place for Downswing to put down roots. Already supporting their newest pursuit, the band is sure to have some creative freedom and exciting collaborations on the horizon.
Downswing is touring this September, opening for He Is Legend, who are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Suck Out the Poison album. All dates are below.
