Cradle of Filth Drop Haunting Demagoguery Video Ahead of European Tour
Extreme metal pioneers Cradle of Filth have just dropped their official music video for Demagoguery, one of the standout tracks from their newly released 14th studio album, The Screaming Of The Valkyries. The video arrives on the heels of the album’s impressive chart debut, landing at #2 on both the US and Canadian Hard Music Albums charts and #4 on the US Current Rock Albums chart.
Directed by Shaun Hodson, the Demagoguery video presents a chilling narrative steeped in symbolism and societal critique. Here’s what Hodson had to share:
“Subject Eleven, a marionette puppet, is controlled by the media, government, and television, her every move dictated by their unseen strings. As a charismatic world leader rises, cloaked in promises of peace, the truth behind her manipulation becomes clear: she is part of a dark orchestration guiding the world toward the rise of the Antichrist.”
The unsettling visuals perfectly echo the track’s blend of blast beats, dark atmospherics, and Cradle Of Filth’s signature theatricality. It’s a visceral reminder of the band’s power to provoke as well as to perform. Check out the music video for yourself below!
The video’s release also coincides with the launch of the band’s UK/European headline tour, which kicked off on June 6 with support from Napalm Records label mates, Nervosa. Check out the full list of tour dates below!
