Metalcore kings Like Moths To Flames have made a powerful return with their first new release in over a year! Unveiling the single “Salting the Earth” alongside a striking visualizer. The new track marks an important moment for the Columbus, Ohio–based band, reintroducing their sounds of aggression and melody while offering a glimpse into the next chapter of artistry. Vocalist Chris Roetter describes “Salting the Earth” as a culmination of the lyrical and emotional themes the band has explored throughout their career, feelings of isolation, self-reflection, and the internal struggle to find direction in life. He explains that the song dives into the paradox of feeling alone even while surrounded by loved ones, capturing the persistent sense of gloom and uncertainty that often shadows personal growth.
"'Salting the Earth' feels like a culmination of the different lyrical elements that the band has experimented with over the years," states vocalist Chris Roetter.
"Themes that are familiar but expand on the ideas of being alone while being surrounded by people you care about. As I continue to exist and navigate through life, I struggle with the path I took to get here and sometimes have no clue where I'm going. The inevitable feeling of gloom never leaves."

The single has moody darker elements similar to LMTF’ last release ”Soul Exchange” last October.
“Soul Exchange” leans into the darker parts of our hearts and minds, reiterating the feeling of falling on deaf ears and being unheard. The track reflects on the emotional toll of creating art that seems unnoticed, expressing the frustration and isolation of pursuing passion despite doubt. The song captures his ongoing battle between creative purpose and the painful silence of feeling unseen.

Much like “Soul Exchange,” the band’s newest single “Salting the Earth” leans into that same brooding intensity and emotional weight. It expands on those darker, more reflective themes, threading vulnerability through heavy, atmospheric moments. Both tracks feel like companion pieces, raw, honest, and steeped in the kind of moody catharsis that’s become a defining part of their sound.
Musically, the single “Salting The Earth” reinforces Like Moths To Flames’ reputation for balancing raw heaviness with introspective storytelling, showcasing their evolution while staying true to the intensity that defines their discography. Released via UNFD, “Salting the Earth” serves not only as the band’s long-awaited comeback but also as a vital statement about perseverance, emotional endurance, and the ongoing search for meaning amid chaos, setting the tone for whatever comes next in their journey.
Like Moths to Flames are currently on their headlining North American Tour through November
