We Came As Romans Release New Single “Where Did You Go?”

In their haunting new single, Where Did You Go?, We Came As Romans drift into darker, more introspective territory–blending moody soundscapes with themes of identity, disconnection, and the search for self. It's a stirring meditation on the ghosts of our past selves, delivered with aching vulnerability and a cinematic sense of nostalgia.

The track marks a striking shift for the Michigan metalcore veterans. Trading aggressive riffs for ambient textures and layered emotional depth, where did you go? stands as one of the most intimate offerings of the band's two-decade career.

According to frontman Dave Stephens, the track was one of the final additions to the upcoming record, but it quickly became something more than just another song.

“From the first few notes, we knew it had a completely different energy,” Stephens shares. “‘Where Did You Go?’ is about the haunting feeling of being left without answers. When we wrote it, we were reflecting on a version of ourselves we used to believe in, the ones with better habits, more clarity, more hope.”

Where did you go? is the fourth single from ALL IS BEAUTIFUL… BECAUSE WE'RE DOOMED, following the release of bad luck, no rest for the dreamer, and culture wound. The upcoming album, set for release on August 22 via Sharptone Records, is designed as a conceptual loop–intended to be played from beginning to end and back again–mirroring the ongoing cycles of loss, renewal, and personal growth.

ALL IS BEAUTIFUL…BECAUSE WE'RE DOOMED Tracklist:

bad luck

lake of fire

red smoke

one by one

culture wound

where did you go?

no rest for the dreamer

b2tm

circling a dying sun

knowing pain

so lost (burning flowers)

because we're doomed

The project marks the band's most ambitious effort yet, both sonically and thematically, drawing from their evolution over the past 20 years.

While the emotional depth of where did you go? stands on its own, fans will also get a chance to experience it live as We Came As Romans continue their Bad Luck World Tour across North America, followed by a fall run through Europe and the UK. For a band that has consistently evolved while staying true to its emotional core, this single feels like both a turning point and a culmination.
