Creative powerhouses and long-time friends Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary (Fit For A King, Beacon Management Group) and Leo Valeri (Brand of Sacrifice, Shibori Threads) announced a new artist-first music label, PAPERCUT RECORDINGS. With an emphasis and clear importance on exactly that, the artist and a mission to redefine what it means to run a modern heavy label, Ryan and Leo are just getting started.
Papercut Recordings promises to empower artists and put creative control back into their hands. The new label also offers fair and equal funding as well as real, raw advice and guidance from real people who are active in the scene and community. Real metal musicians with similar experiences and lived expertise, prepared and ready to offer support in the most authentic, transparent, and straightforward way possible.
“If there’s one thing we’ve seen enough of, it’s seeing new talent get steamrolled,” say Valeri and O’Leary. “Our mission is to return creative control and power to the people who earned it—the artists. We provide fair, transparent funding paired with real-world expertise from people who are metal musicians themselves, living and breathing the scene alongside you. Chief songwriter and producer behind Brand of Sacrifice, Leo Valeri knows a thing or two, first hand, about blending immersive storytelling, aggressive branding, and unmatched creative execution. As a redefined artist-entrepreneur in the modern era and founder of Shibori Threads, one of the most recognizable alternative streetwear brands in the music scene, known for its signature tie-dye, genre-blending aesthetic, and collaborations with global powerhouses like Sleep Token, Ghost, Spiritbox, Bandai Namco, Konami, and many more, makes Valeri a visionary creative force to be reckoned with. As well as a cultural force at the intersection of heavy music and e-commerce.
Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary
Metalcore titan Fit For A King bassist, writer, and music industry entrepreneur Ryan “Tuck” O’Leary brings his own real and raw lived experience to Papercut Recordings as a talent scout with a proven knack for finding and developing rising stars, Tuck has helped craft multiple charting albums while staying deeply connected to what fans crave more of and where our metal music community is headed, with gaining millions of streams and a rabid global fanbase. As the founder of Featured X, an artist-first tech platform, and co-founding Beacon Management Group, he manages and supports emerging artists, helping shape their careers with smart strategy and hands-on guidance. Ryan’s unique mix of creative talent and industry insight makes him a vital, integral piece behind the next wave of heavy music.
In honor of its first launch, Papercut Recordings welcomes bands LIMBS and BLACKSHAPE as its first signings.
