Shadow of Intent release new single and visualizer for "Feeding the Meatgrinder" feat. Corpsegrinder
American deathcore heavyweights Shadow of Intent are back with a new single, ‘Feeding the Meatgrinder,’ which features Corpsegrinder (Cannibal Corpse), alongside announcing a new album, ‘Imperium Delirium,’ which is released into the world on June 27.
With four self-released albums — Primordial (2016), Reclaimer (2017), Melancholy (2019), and Elegy (2022), the most recent — the band blends deathcore, black metal, and progressive elements to create their ever-unique sound. The band’s music emphasizes many evils in the world, even in myth or real-life events. The band was formed in 2014 by Ben Duerr (vocals) and Chris Wiseman (guitar, vocals, keyboards) along with Bryce Butler (drums) and Andrew Monias (bass). Shadow of Intent have fast become one of the most forward-thinking bands in modern metal, who are always pushing the boundaries in the deathcore scene.
Lyrically, this song is about an anti-war and anti-imperialist take on this current world, with the dark and fast-paced guitar riffs and drums alongside the deathly screams and vocals from both Ben and Chris. This is another incredible song to be added to the string of songs in the Shadow of Intent back catalog. The addition of having George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher on this track just takes this to the next level. The visualizer delves into the dark and eerie forest in which a body is turned into a demon-like creature, which is beautifully captured in this incredible video.
