BROADSIDE SIGNS TO THRILLER RECORDS, ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR "I THINK THEY KNOW"
Virginia pop-punk heavyweights Broadside sign to Thriller Records alongside fellow bands The Home Team and DeadEyes. Alongside this exciting new era of the band, they release a new single, ‘I think they know.’
Bringing us all the pop punk goodness over the last decade, Broadside (Oliver Baxxter (vocals), Dominic Reid (guitar), and Patrick Diaz (bass)) are the kings of storytelling and relatable lyrics and catchy songs; this recent release is no different from any other, nothing short of being amazing. Influences of the band include AFI and Taking Back Sunday. Having released their full-length album ‘Hotel Bleu’ in 2023, which goes through the motions of staying in hotels to self-reflect and work on your own personal growth while living your life. The album was a milestone for the band, getting over 100 million streams, making this their boldest statement as a band to date.
Opening the new era with the new song ‘I think they know’ places a spotlight on social anxieties and having imposter syndrome take over, even while being in a familiar setting. ‘Why do I feel alone? // Am I going crazy? I think I am, looking in the mirror like a lucid dream’ are some standout lyrics reflecting on having imposter syndrome and living inside your head while dealing with the daily struggles of life and just existing. Showcasing killer vocals from Oli along with the earworm guitar riffs from Dominic partnered with the catchy bass licks that Patrick delivers in true Broadside fashion that we know and love, making this the perfect track to start the new era off with, this will be one of the most exciting times for the band yet. The video complements the song very well, opening with being in a launderette and then a hotel room with Oli trying to get away from his inner demons, mostly being filmed in black and white, making it seem like a short film, which is unique. Yet again another stand-out masterpiece of a video to accompany the new Broadside chapter of the band.
Let this new and exciting era of the band commence with Thriller Records by their side—Broadside will forever be themselves and make a lasting impact on the scene while staying true to the thought of growth within the band being essential. Starting this month, catch them on tour with Real Friends, Silverstein, and Greyhaven.
