For the third year in a row, Summer of ‘99 and Beyond is returning, but this year to Credit Union 1 amphitheater in Tinley Park. Bringing another weekend packed with some of the biggest names in rock, alternative rock, nu-metal, and everything in between
Set for July 18-19, the two day festival once again delivers a lineup that feels tailor-made for fans who grew up during the late 90s and early 2000s while also spotlighting several modern acts helping the shape of future.
DAY ONE- LIMP BIZKIT headlines a Nu-Metal Heavyweight Lineup.
Saturday belongs to Limp Bizkit; fresh off one of the most successful comeback runs in modern music, Fred Durst and company will headline a lineup featuring Cypress Hill, Sevendust, Kittie, Puddle of Mudd, Magnolia Park, the Pretty Wild, and Slay Squad
While the top of the bill is stacked with legendary names, Magnolia Park continues to stand out as one of the scene’s fastest rising modern acts. Their blend of pop-punk and metalcore influences has helped them build a dedicated fanbase while proving they can hold their own alongside some of the biggest names in the genre.
For true longtime fans of the genre and era, Sevendust may be one of the most anticipated performances of the day. Few bands have maintained the consistency applaud, and live energy that Sevendust has delivered for nearly three decades, and their reputation for explosive festival sets makes them a perfect fit. It also brings back the first few tours of both bands, often shared with acts like 3 Doors Down fronted by the late Brad Arnold.
DAY TWO- CREED and their biggest chapter continues. Sunday sees Creed return to the spotlight during what has arguably become the band’s biggest and most successful reunion period to date. This is Creed’s second time at Credit Union 1 amphitheater, the first being with Finger 11,and 3 Doors Down..also had special guests, a giant rain storm.
Joined by Bush, Mammoth, Candlebox, Hoobastank, Sleep theory, Big Wreck, The Verve Pipe, and Ashes of Billy, the second day offers one of the most diverse lineup of the weekend to spice up each flavor of Creed.
One of the more intriguing slots belongs to Sleep Theory; despite rapidly becoming one of rock’s hottest emerging acts and earning significant radio success over the last 2 years. Also on the list is Canadian rock veterans Big Wreck also add another layer of depth to Sunday's lineup. Led by acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Ian Thornley, the band has spent decades earning respect among musicians and fans alike for their songwriting, musicianship, and great live performance.
