On July 30, 2025, electronic hardcore originators from Michigan, I SEE STARS, announced a highly anticipated album, “The Wheel” set to come out September 12th with Sumerian Records. This band is continuing to break the mold despite being dark in the music scene for a spell with their last studio album, “Treehouse” in 2016. Combining frontman Devin Oliver’s melodies, powerful guitar riffs, and electronic background beats, the new album is sure to please old fans and new fans alike as it brings them back to the active music scene. To announce the new album, the band excitedly dropped the track “Eliminator,” set to be a track on the album, as well as a statement: "The last time we spent this much time on a record was our debut album, '3D'. 'THE WHEEL' is a time capsule capturing the past seven years of our lives. It’s a culmination of everything we’ve experienced individually, together, and as human beings navigating the chaos of the world. While we don’t plan to wait this long before releasing another album, we’re deeply grateful for the time it took to make this one. We poured ourselves into it, and we hope our fans feel that. We’re proud to finally share 'THE WHEEL' with you."
Currently, the band consists of brothers Devin Oliver (vocals) and Andrew Oliver (keyboards/programming), Jeff Valentine (bass), and Brent Allen (guitar).
The band has been no stranger to the hard work of putting together an album, and the singles that have been released in spaced out form, “Are we 3ven”, “Split”, “Anomaly”, “Drift”, and “D4mage Done” over the last few years have proven that this band still has it. These songs all appear on the band’s sixth full-length studio album, but are only a fraction of the tracks on “The Wheel,” which vocalist Devin Oliver stated started as a “joke” and “funny” and became “Very special” to them as they chose to leave it up to chance. “The Wheel” was then born.
Fans should expect tunes such as “Carry on For You,” which is deeply personal yet tragic in honor of the loss following Devin and Andrew’s uncle’s battle with pancreatic cancer, as well as tracks that came from the struggle of Devin’s personal health struggles. Says Devin: “It's almost like the wheel spinning in song form—it keeps turning round and is just racing through time and emotions. And the question we ask at the end of the song has a lot to do with the band. Will I ever be enough as an artist? Will the fans ever see us for everything we've put into this, which essentially is our entire lives at this point?”
When the masses experience “The Wheel” on Friday, September 12, 2025, it will be clear that the answer to those questions is a resounding “Yes”. Fans have been waiting and continue hoping for the band to make that comeback while offering new emotions and feelings along with it.
