Nashville-based rockers Badflower recently announced their highly anticipated album, No Place Like Home, which follows their 2021 sophomore album, This Is How The World Ends. The album will feature already released singles “Haunting You,” “London,” and their #1 Active Rock radio track, “Detroit.” The album will be released on June 20, 2025, via Big Machine Rock.

In addition to the album announcement, Badflower continues to spoil their fans with pre-album releases with their newest single, “Paws.” The song is a powerful ballad that honors the pets we have lost throughout our lives. This emotionally charged and cathartic song captures the love we have for our furry friends and the memories we cherish after they are gone.

“Losing a pet is a very serious thing,” frontman Josh Katz explains. “It's something I've been through, and I know a lot of other people have been through. I live on a farm by myself in the middle of nowhere, so I don't have very many friends. My animals are my whole world. It's a sad topic, but I like sad songs, and I hope it can help someone going through that experience right now.”

Fans shared those sentiments with an outpouring of social media reactions with reminiscent stories about their beloved pets and an expression of gratitude for the band being able to put that specific feeling of grief perfectly into words through the lyrics of the song.

Katz further explained through social media that the timing of the song's release took a devastating turn within his personal life. He explained that his 16-year-old dog Maggie, who has been a highlight in the band’s fanbase with music video appearances and merch features, has been experiencing health issues. “It will be the hardest loss of my life,” Katz stated in a video about the song's release.

Kristen

Hi! My name is Kristen and I’m a photographer/videographer based out of Milwaukee, WI. I’ve never known life without a camera in my hands and music in my ears. Music is something that I always felt passionate about and fell in love with how music can connect so many people from all different walks of life. At a very young age, I found my mom’s VHS camcorder and filmed anything and everything. Later in life, I became a wedding videographer and continued to do that for 5 years. While doing this helped me hone my craft, I always had a pull in the back of my mind to music photography. That's when I decided to bring my two passions together and got into music photography. I hope to help continue bringing people together and amplifying the voices and stories of all of the people and artists I am inspired by, and those I have yet to find.
